The Eagle falls...
As a magnitude 6.5 earthquake rattled over the Central parts of New Zealand buildings rattled, rumbled grounds shook for at least a minute but then a large stature also fell. Damaged homes and roads cracked and trembled, but no injuries were reported in the shaking quake over Central New Zealand, which also included the capital of Wellington. The quake occurred on Sunday, January 19, 2014. New Zealand sits along a fault line and has recently in the last two years been experiencing earthquake activity. A 2011 earthquake killed 189 people in nearby Christchurch. The large eagle was one of two placed on display at the Wellington airport fell from the shaking quake was used to promote the movie The Hobbit.
