The project will cost 20 billion yuan ($3.2 billion) to China, the newspaper noted. An aircraft-building plant in Zhengzhou, the administrative center in Henan Province, is planned to assemble 100 airliners. O-bay Aircraft Company which “was not widely known before” will work in partnership with two other companies — China Tianli Aviation Technology and Industry Co and Shanghai Yuan-Fei Aviation Technology Co, Huanqiu Shibao reported.

“After signing of the contract, Zhengzhou will be the third Chinese city after Tianjin and Shanghai where airplanes with more than one hundred seats are produced,” the newspaper reported. An aircraft assembling plant will be probably located in the Zhengzhou economic zone situated near the city airport.

“Launch of an aircraft-building plant will also allow training a large number of highly qualified workers and increasing the level of resource base in the province,” newspaper Zhengzhou Wanbao believes.

An office of Russia’s Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company in the Chinese capital of Beijing refrained from any comments on the details of the memorandum signed last weekend. Meanwhile, according to Chinese reports, an assembly line of Sukhoi civilian aircraft should be launched in 2016 and reach full capacity in 2018.
