In the overall win a American won!! Meb Keflezighi took over the lead in the last mile in the Men's race to make his daring cross breaking the ribbon at a time of 2hours and 8 seconds. With a very emotional win Meb kissed the ground and make the statement that the race for him went beyond running. He'll enjoy that pocket prize of 150,000 dollars!!
Next in the Women's race a lovely two time 33 year-old winner from Kenya Rita Jeptoo took the time around 2:00 hours. Rita said as she won, her ears were screaming! [photo below]
All the race runners were winners in a special dedication of this year's race and the celebration brought Boston a world look of what joy can be brought from tragedy.
