(28 April 2014) Errors in hospital waiting list times have undermined public confidence in the data, claims a public spending watchdog.

The Public Accounts Committee called for independent audits in future after spot checks found one in four hospitals recording false waiting list times.

It said hospital Trusts were 'struggling with a hotchpotch' of IT and paper-based systems that made it difficult to compare their performance.

NHS targets, introduced by Labour in 2008, state that 90 per cent of patients who need inpatient care and 95 per cent who require outpatient treatment should wait no longer than 18 weeks.

See guys, you might not be aware that in many Universal Health Systems there are wait lists to see Specialists and to have surgeries. In the case of NHS, the four hospitals in question have been fudging their wait times in order to keep Govt. Dollars coming in.

You have probably heard about the secret lists the Arizona V A created for vets with at least 40 dying while waiting to see a doctor. These NHS (Govt hospitals) were hiding the true wait times. Patients thereby wouldn't truly be getting a hospital to do a surgery in 2 months (although the hospital claimed it takes 2 months to get in) it would be more realistically like 4-6 months.

Even in Canada, there are wait lists for procedures like CT scans and MRIs even Surgeries as important has open heart, knee, knee, and gastric surgeries. Because of the wait times, the Canadian Govt allows in some circumstances their citizens to come here to have surgery. I pray that with the surplus / surge in insured people now that we don't have have a mess like this!!!

Yikes!
