Iraq's parliament voted in their new president ond Thursday, July 24, 2014. The new elected president is Fouad Massoum. The 76 year-old elected was one of the founders of Patricotic Union of the Kardian Party. Massoum ideal goal for Iraq is government reform. Leaders noted the election of Massoum was mainly supported for his experience of polictics and his familiarity to develope a failing government to prosperity. During the naming of Massoum a historial Muslim Shrine in Monsul was destroyed in a bombing attack. The shrine was historial and was traditionally said to be the burial place of the Prophet Jonah which is written about in both the Holy Quran and the Holy Bible. President Obama sent congratulations to the newly elected leader.
