NEW YORK, August 18 (RIA Novosti) - Russia is planning to request an official report on the progress of the investigation into the crash of a Malaysian passenger plane in eastern Ukraine, Russia’s UN envoy Vitaly Churkin said Monday.

"We will ask for a briefing by the UN Secretariat on the progress of the implementation of Resolution 2166," Churkin told reporters at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Churkin said it had been a month since the start of the probe and paragraph 13 of the resolution envisions periodical reports by the UN secretary general on the progress of the investigation.

On August 14, the Dutch Safety Board, which is in charge of victim identification and probing the cause of the disaster, said it had finished its work in Ukraine, and that an initial report on the flight MH17 crash will be released during the first week of September.

A total of 298 people, including 193 Dutch citizens and 27 Australians, died on July 17 as a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in Donetsk Region of Ukraine.

The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is seriously obstructed by continuing clashes between independence supporters and Kiev forces in eastern regions of Ukraine.

Ukrainian authorities claim the plane was shot down by independence supporters, whereas the latter say they do not have necessary equipment to hit a target flying this high.

Yeah...boi Russia got Ukraine & Obama administration in a 'two-for-one exposure' thanks to their superior space technology.

I love set-ups too especially for individuals that are sneaky and love starting trouble !!!!

Well.... we have some high ranking officials from Malaysia that have stated that Ukraine did it, also the US CIA intelligence service agencies have said the same thing.

Obama has two major crises on his hand, Ferguson, MO and the potential for rioting in other major cities and suburbs after the policeman is not indicted.

Second the Russian complete exposure in a 'John Kennedy' style UN Security Council meeting open to the international press regarding the crash of the Malaysian airliner over Eastern Ukraine.

Watch and see that the United States will veto this proposal in a secret UN Security Council session.

Vitaly Churkin embassy representative for the Russian Federation will surely submit the proposal with a smile on his face too!

This will be something Russia will use against the United States later when they go running in the UN Security Council seeking a cease fire for Israel when Hezbollah starts the next war.

US Military Arrive in Ukraine to Investigate Into Malaysian Boeing Crash - Reports

MOSCOW, August 6 (RIA Novosti) - A group of 10 American military has arrived in Ukraine to investigate into the crash of a Malaysian Boeing 777, which was downed in the country’s east in July, Reuters reported, adding that the team would not visit the crash site.

“The team would work in coordination with and support the FBI team already on the ground," US European Command spokesman US Navy Captain Gregory Hicks was quoted as saying. “They will not participate in actual recovery operations. The team will be in Kiev for as long as required in support of the overall US contribution to the investigation.”

The group including special operations, logistics, communications and air planning personnel, will be working in Kiev, as the ongoing fighting between the self-defense forces and the Ukrainian Army make it risky to visit the crash site.

Hicks added that the survey and assessment team would advise the US Embassy in Kiev over possible American support to the Netherlands, Malaysia and Australia in the MH17 investigation and recovery.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17. All 298 people on board, including 85 children, died in the crash.

Following the deadly crash, the United States and the European Union imposed new sanctions against Russia, which they claimed could be responsible for the tragedy.

According to authorities in Kiev, as well as the West, the plane was shot down by weapons supposedly “delivered” to independence supporters by Russia.

Moscow has repeatedly denied these allegations saying it never interfered with the Ukrainian internal affairs and stressed that the sanctions policy was unacceptable and counterproductive.

Last week, Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby announced that the United States was planning to spend $19 million in 2015 on training and equipment of the Ukrainian National Guard “as part of their efforts to build their capacity for internal defense."
