Mr. Deacon,,,,
The slaves can understand and his signature was an X. So, to say that because the slaves could not read or write barred them from having wealth despite how less the wealth is out right wrong.
Slaves worked odd chores in the evening and on Sundays for money. When they went into town on errands for their slave masters they had a few pennies they brought things for their wives and children.
Even though they could not read or write they learned how to count.
Mr. Deacon is of the opinion that because the slaves could not read or write they could not own anything and that is not true! Of course, what ever they owned it was subject to their slave masters possibly confiscate it. Nevertheless, they were able to own things that were not of any interest to their slave masters.
HARRY,
Go back to my blog and reread what Brother SoSo said and my reply. If you read with understanding slaves can not read and slaves was forbidden to read is much different which blows this lying blog of your completely up as A bogus interpretation of the facts.
