A LIGHT CONVERSATION OVER: CHERRIES

A LIGHT CONVERSATION OVER: CHERRIES

I suddenly had a craving for the sweet taste of a cherry. I find however, that cherry season is in most areas between May to August of the year. So finding them fresh may be harder that I care to look for some. I admit though, eating them from a jar they are still sweet and satisfying. As I look around the internet I found a few myths about the cherry. Mythology has they may bring such gifts of fertility, prosperity, and merry happiness. Chinese mythlogy regarded the cherry blossoms as symbols of immortality and to keep evil spirits away. In Japan the cherry blossoms is considered their national flower. They say that the blossoms represent beauty, courtesy and modesty.

Cherries can be delcious with chocolate, whip cream and just plainly eaten. Cherry icecream is so sweet! Then of course, cherries are most indeed associated with love and love-making.

After all that light conversation, my craving left me. I tried to keep it a light conversation; though that craving may return...

That's a light conversation huh?

That's all folks...

When we were kids my mom would bake us whatever kind of cake we wanted for our birthdays. Cherry was one of my favorites. My neighbor in CA had a cherry tree and boy were those cherries delicious. Maybe I'll plant a cherry tree. Miisrael, I am going to get you some irises. Did you tell me what kind you like?
