Residents in San Bernardino and Southern California were locked in with a cold snap of a snow storm which left highways and motorists trapped. More than 100 motorists were reported stranded in their cars on State Route 38 on Wednesday and Thursday, December 31, 2014 and New Year's Day 2015. In addition, to the icy fall of snow there was some difficulty of fog which also made driving hazardous. Those whom were stranded in cars were taken to a nearby church for shelter by emergency crews. Others in the areas of Mount Baldy and those along the Ortega Highway were also trapped as the highways were closed for wintry conditions.
