Sister Lofton,
These words jumped right out at me and these words rings so true.
"If you can control a man's thinking you do not have to worry about his action. When you determine what a man shall think you do not have to concern yourself about what he will do. If you make a man feel that he is inferior, you do not have to compel him to accept an inferior status, for he will seek it himself. If you make a man think that he is justly an outcast, you do not have to order him to the back door. He will go without being told; and if there is no back door, his very nature will demand one."
It is your journey Sister Lofton, it is your right to look in the high places, you have to right to look in the low places and if you find love, peace, Joy, happiness, fulfillment, and that since of belonging, then this is your right.
If you give up that right, then you should feel like a criminal.
Thanks Sister Lofton for being in to focus that this month is Black History Month.
Reginald Great post!
AND Helen you've added an even fresher coating for one's thinking.

Free within ourselves is a great post. The question is how do you get others to feel that mentality? My grandson quarreled with me the other day about how he heard that I had changed my religion several times. I said to him that's what freedom of religion means. He says that's crazy because other people don't do it. I said that maybe they don't think that they have the freedom to do it. I didn't break the law why should I feel like a criminal.
