Day 16

February 2015

Liyama, JP

You build over a thousand snow men!

In the city of Liyama, Japan heavy snows are quite a common site in winters.   So many of the towns people take part in a annual festival and world breaking effect to be in the Guinness Book of World Records for making the most snowmen in the least acquired of time.

This year they made that record.   In fact there were over 600 people, including women and children who rolled, patted, and stacked up snowman to make 1, 585 snow men in a time period of 30 minutes making them the new record holder since 2011.   They made the offical record for the least number of people and the least amount of time beating their previous record of 1,279. The fun and snowman making is part of their Winter Festival.

I'm sure Boston would love to donate more snow if they needed it...
