To begin the dialogue let me first ask you this question. Pilate had a conversation Jesus and from that conversation do you think that Pilate wanted to crucify Jesus? The answer is NO.

Pilate did not want to crucify the Jewish Jesus? If you find that Pilate did not want to crucify Jesus then you will find that Pilate offered Jesus a way out and that way out was to apologize to the Pharisees and Scribes that hopefully the Pharisees and Scribes would give-up on forcing Pilate to crucify Jesus.

I find that Pilate did not want to crucify Jesus when Pilate asked Jesus if Jesus knew that he had power over his life and death! Since Jesus would not apologize then Pilate washed his hands proclaiming that he wants to have nothing to do with crucifying an innocent man! Pilate did encourage the Jewish Jesus to apologize in so many words.

What the Pharisees wanted from Jesus was for Jesus to say that he is nothing, but he was the prophet of only the Jewish people at that time.
