We've got good news for "Bad" boy Sean "Diddy" Combs, he won't face federal felony charges for allegedly attaching his son's UCLA football coach.  More inside.....

That was a fast one.....we've just learned that P. Diddy won't face felony assault and battery charges for that time he (allegedly) went oops upside the head of his son Justin's UCLA football coach last month.

The great news was confirmed to PEOPLE by the County District Attorney's office.  Case spokesman Ricardo Santiago said the dispute was referred to the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office for misdemeanor filing considerations and the DA has declined to pursue the matter any further. Take that...

You'll recall Diddy was arrested on suspicion of three counts -- assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal threats and battery.

Puff's attorney Mark Geragos (he's Chris Brown's legal eagle as well) released a statement saying, "We are thankful that the district attorney rejected felony charges in this matter. This case never should have been part of the criminal justice system to begin with."

Now.....will Diddy ever be allowed on UCLA's football field again?  Doubt it...

Diddy Releases Statement On Assault Charges + Justin's Coach Returns To Work

Diddy is now speaking out about his recent arrest and assault charges.  Find out what he has to say for himself inside, and the latest updates in the Daddy Diddy vs. Son's Coach debacle....

While Diddy's lawyer Mark Geragos prepares his spin, Diddy is releasing his own statement on yesterday's antics involving son Justin's football coach that got the mogul arrested.

On the heels of Diddy being charged on numerous counts of assault, battery and making terrorist threats against UCLA's strength and conditioning football coach Sal Alosi after Alosi got in Justin's face at yesterday's practice, Diddy is making a statement.

Diddy states (via his reps) on his Revolt website:

"The various accounts of the event and charges that are being reported are wholly inaccurate. What we can say now is that any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son. We are confident that once the true facts are revealed, the case will be dismissed.”

Doesn't sound like he's denying swinging that kettlebell at Alosi's dome though.

The site also says Diddy expects for the charges to be dropped and the facts that are floating around about the incident are "inaccurate":

According to police and reports, Combs was involved in an altercation with a strength and conditioning coach on the Bruins football staff, where his son, Justin Combs, is a defensive player. It remains unclear at this time the exact details surrounding the events, however, Combs was arrested and later released on bond and is due back in court next month to face assault charges against Sal Alosi. Alosi is most widely known for an illegally interfering on a live play during an NFL game between the Jets and Dolphins when he was a member of the New York organization. TMZ first reported the incident and claimed Alosi was aggressively targeting the younger Combs during practice.

A representative for Combs said accounts of the incident are "inaccurate" and expects the charges against the mogul to be dismissed.

Oh.

TMZ also reports today that what set Diddy off is Alosi calling Diddy and Justin out in front of the whole team:

Our sources tell us ... strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi was riding Justin Combs hard -- and screaming out loud, "I don't care if your dad's here. This is UCLA. I'm going to treat you just like I treat everyone else."

Believable.

Meanwhile, Coach Alosi returned to work today.  He was spotted back on the field practicing as if nothing happened...and with no visible injuries.
