CHEMICAL LEAK IN EDINBURGH CAUSED CASUALITIES

Multiple casualites occured by a chemical leak at the East Sands Lesiure Center in St. Andrews.  15 people were among the casualities which happened  around 1pm their local time.  According to the Scottish Ambulance Service most of the injuries were not thought to be serious and the 15 people would be treated at the Ninewells hospital in Dundee.  The chemical  leak was said to be from sodium hypochlorite, and compound used as a disinfectant or bleach when dissolved with water.    The site of the chemical fumes has been blocked off and buildings surrounded by the center have been evacuated as a safety precaution.  Investigation of how the leak started in being sought.
