I attend a new church now that is very influential; in Sunday school this morning I asked this question!
The lesson was from the book of Acts and Apostle Paul. When comments and questions opened I asked the Asst. Dir. what was Paul’s race and she said Jewish. I followed up and asked was Jesus Jewish as well? She said yes.
Then I made the point that Paul and Jesus are racially different from us! She hesitantly said yes, but it doesn’t matter. She explained that there are Blacks in the Bible.
The Dir. took over and tried to explain away the racially differences as unimportant. I said nevertheless, Jesus and Paul are racially different from us Black Americans descendants of plantation slaves. They agreed!
I am laying ground work for next Sunday and Bible study on Tuesday evening that Black Americans are not in the White Christian Bible since we are not Jewish people and European gentiles!
The audience of more than a 100 began to pay attention to the brief dialogue between the Asst. and the Dir. and myself.
Essentially, I am going to breathe LIFE into this church hoping that I can resurrect my Black American people sooner than later, feel me!
