Kwanzaa is not considered a religious or religion related holiday, but is a practice among families of all races to become more in the spiritual attributes of a better life among their own families and those they also connect to in their lives. The celebration is daily from December 26-January 1st.

The first candle of the Kinara is lit on December 26th.
It is the black candle and sits in the middle of the Kinara.
