I disagree with Obama on this one. No gun laws will stop suicides, homegrown terrorists attacks, police violence against unarmed citizens, or gun violence in the black community. Obama's proposal is tax based, allowing states to charge owners an annual license fee and tax all private sales.It's about money not safety. He's been in office for nearly 8 years and black communities are no better off. We have to stop depending on the United States, which is a corporation not a government, to provide for our people. We must take the responsibility upon ourselves. It is our responsibility. We have the means.

Quick Question Sister Demi, If over 70 percent of American's wants Background checks, isn't he carrying out the will of the people?

Hay Ron, I've been hearing this claim the past couple days leading up to the President's announcement shortly, that 40% of gun sales bypass background checks, largely because of Internet sales. I have a gun I want to sell online. If the buyer is in a state other than mine can we bypass the background check?

Then how would know that you are not selling a gun to someone who is on the NO FLY LIST or someone that the FBI is looking at for a possible terrorist actions, how would you know STEVEN?

Respectable Deacon Gray, I haven't been privy to that survey and quite frankly don't believe in polls or statistics, which are generally manipulated. Neither Obama nor any other president of that corporation has black issues on their agenda. People who want guns will get them. Gun violence in our communities and all other communities will continue to exist because laws do not control people's way of thinking. I'm not concern with people on the No Fly list or FBI terrorists search, because the terrorists in our communities (trigger happy white cops) look nothing like the people in the Media. We have to focus on our issues, not make their enemies our enemies, when in all cases we never get the whole story, and protect our children and ourselves--by any means necessary.

I encourage black America to arm themselves. No war has ever been won with prayer or by marching the soles off one's feet. While black America is encourage to trade in their guns for Target or Walmart gift cards, whites are buying up guns like its nobody business. Historically, since its inception in the late 1800s, the United States has NEVER protected black America. We are our own keepers.

No one has yet to explain how Barack Obama's new gun laws will stop gun violence in the black communities. Black youths, and most black on black gun violence crimes are not committed by people who buy guns at gun show. I seldom see other blacks at gun shows. Obama is a joke, and I don't care what black person doesn't like this fact. What has changed in our communities since he's been president. He cried over white kids but not blacks. Come on black people.

As you know in this country after a mass shooting white folks go mentally ill and have a good chance of living through the arrest procedure, I even heard that the church assassin was taken to McDonald's before he was booked. Do, you think he could have passed a simple background check?

I say close the GUN SHOW LOOPHOPES which makes it easies for the sick and those who have an agenda to put there hands on a weapon.

People of color are called terrorist. We will never know how many mass shooters have been stopped because they are stopped by a simple background check but want I do know, if a terroirs from overseas do come to the United States to commit a act of terror, they can get their hands on any weapon they want because of that open door called the show loops hole.

Changing the so called loopholes at gun shows benefits the government that will gain TAX dollars and License fees. A background check does not determine a person's mental stability. It is all a bunch of deceptive elephant poop. Drugs in the black communities have killed more people than guns.

Changing so called loopholes means that responsible people can get GUNS. keeping the gun loopholes as is means the weapons corporations will maintain huge profits in the deaths of Americans.

If there is another attack on a school or a church or even in a movie show, I only hope that the people that carriers out such an act won't get their weapons from a GUN SHOW or over THE INTERNET.

When you sell a gun on the Internet you ask the buyer to send a copy of the dealer's FFL and ship the gun to the dealer not the buyer. When the buyer goes to the dealer to pick up the gun, voila!, the dealer runs a background check.

That is not country wide, now is it?

For me as a seller in Pennsylvania it's country wide. If I were a seller in California,the federal law applies if the buyer is in any state but California.
