RESTITUTIONS AT GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY

Georgetown University has began a process to make restitution for families of slaves sold at its campus in the 19th century. In 1838 the university's property was used for sell of 272 slaves which was sold by the Washington based institution. A project to see how to make its involvement slave trade more apologetic is planned to the families of former slaves. Extra support has be implemented in its admission process to family of slave descendants. In addition, calls for renaming college buildings have been suggested and funds that aid in research the institute on slavery have been presented as other ways to make amends.
