I am sharing this heated debate I had today at the YMCA concerning analytical thinking and rational reasoning.
I asked this question if the hospital informed you 20 years later that the child you thought was your child is not your child and a conclusive DNA examination shows that this child is biologically not yours. I went on to ask at the moment you were informed and there after that this child is not yours would there be a change in you about this revelation.
The members of the Y I attend are Black. Every now and then a White person would come but they wouldn’t stay long. Twenty to 25 Blacks I presented the question to all answered the same way that it wouldn’t matter to them. Their answer was unacceptable to me. I said it would have to weight on you in some kind of a way. But, they insisted that so.
I went to this White woman who is one of the janitors that we all know well and I presented to her the topic of discussion and asked her opinion. She absolutely confirmed that she understood where I was coming from and agreed with me.
I went back to my Black American friends and said to them they cannot distinguish between what is real and what is not real. In other words, before you were informed that this child was not yours is one reality and right after you were informed that this child was not yours is a another reality. But, when they would say it wouldn’t matter to them they cannot tell the difference between what is real and what is not real. They cannot tell the difference between Monday and Tuesday. All Black Americans except me are ignorant and cannot think analytically and reason rationally and that is because we are descendents of slaves and slaves are not intelligent people because we have no free will.
