1. How does the Lord regard pride?

Proverbs 6:16-19. These six things doeth the Lord hate; yea seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood: An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief: A false witness that speaketh lies; and him that soweth discord among brethren.

Proverbs 16:18. Pride goeth before destruction: and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Proverbs 29:23 A mans pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Proverbs 21:4. An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

2 Timothy 3:2. For men shall bee lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, un-thankful unholy.

7. How are the proud now generally regarded?

Malachi 3:15. And now we call the proud happy: yea, they that work wickedness are set up, yea they that tempt God, are even delivered.

8. What is to be the fate of the proud?

Malachi 4:1. For behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven, and all the proud, yea and all that doe wickedly shall be stubble: and the day that commeth, shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
