Black Girls Reaching Puberty Early
Black Girls Reaching Puberty Early

A 1997 study, conducted at pediatricians’ offices nationwide, found that girls were showing the first signs of puberty about a year earlier than was considered normal. Most striking was that Black girls were beginning puberty about a year earlier than white girls. Compared with 8-year-old white girls, about four times as many Black 8-year-olds grow pubic hair and develop breast buds. The age when girls get their first periods has also dropped (though less dramatically) over the past 30 years, and Black girls precede white girls by half a year in this regard. Many in the white race have switched over to buying and eating products that are organically grown. The meat, milk, eggs not to mention fruit you by in the average supermarket have been artificially treated with hormone sto make them bigger or to make cows make more milk. We getting these same hormones through the cheap foods we get from regular supermarket and that's why kids are developing quicking and also why we are getting more and more cancers. Health food stores like Trader Joes are a good chhoice for buying foods that are "organically" grown, meaning no added hormones. ALso, if you buy chicken at your local supermarket, make sure you buy a brand of chicken that is locally grown in your state so it is fresh and make sure it says NO ADDED HORMONES OR ANTIBIOTICS ADDED. Each state usually has these like Foster Farm chickens in L.A. Cheap bargain chicken is not worth the risk of giving your family expose to chemical causing hormones. Otherwise, you may pay a little more to buy organic foods at health food stores like Trader Joes's, Fresh & Easy, Whole Foods and others. Some of these health food stores cost more. Trader Joe's is smaller and does not have as much variety as Whole Foods, but Trader Joe's is my favorite because most of their products (except some meats, produce) are as in expensive as local supermarkets. Blacks simply need to learn to eat better and stop taking in all these hormones. Also it's important to buy milk that specifically says "milk from cows NOT treated with rbST. RBST is a hormone injected in cows to make them produce abnormal amounts of milk. A free online documentary on this also states that these cows are forced to produce so much milk and milked so excessively that their teats form pus that gets into the milk product. The court recently blocked a grassroots group that wanted to put out public service announcement that said "Got Pus" instead of "Got Milk". We are responsible for our own health.
