R.I.A. Rap In Amerikkka

Bee Smooth · Wednesday, July 30th 2008 at 1:21AM · 702 views
How has the rap world changed since being the voice of the Black youth in amerikkka?
Where is the promoting of conscience and positive rap songs? We have made a jobs for ourselves in an industry that has robbed some of the Black pioneers in the music industry. Is all the money being spent on hoochie mommas and bling? Why are the Black record companies promoting s*x,violence, and greed? Where is the good old days of block parties with the break dancers, djing in the parks and mc battles? The same music I grew up on has now become dumbed down to heighten the ignorance of self respect, dignity, pride and knowledge of OURSELVES..

I'm feeling you on that. For me I like from the 80's to the mid 90"s hip-hop. I thought I was just getting old. But the stuff thats out their now, I can't really relate. Their is no substance, just funny punch-lines and nice hook (that is repeated throughout the song). Can we ever get hip-hop back? Because it has be stolen.

I agree with you on that we're selling ourselves for their greed and hungreness . They're making a mock out of us. They know what they want and what sells ,even though we say to ourselves that's wrong we do it anyway for money. We sold ourelves out them.
