The Black Challenge-Get in Where You fit in!
Here's my suggestions/challange.
From now until the end of the year, let's VOW to get involved every weekend. You got it...less talk...more action.
Help Mr and Mrs. Johnson clean out the garage. Volunteer at your local public after school/weekend kids program to read, mentor, cook lunch...something. Give rides to members of our family less off than yourself. Pay somebodies rent/ light note, car payment...or meal. Give kids books. Visit inmates. The list goes on and on...
We can talk/type all day/night on these sites...but until WE begin to do stuff...we will get nowhere.
So that's the challange..we need to do some heavy lifting to get this train back on the tracks...are you in or out?
Dr. Glover, THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! I will continue to work with the youth in my community. Either it be basketball and workshops (consisting of lifeskills or educational assistance). I will try to increase the number of participants in my community base program from 10 to 20 student-athletes this coming year, and 10 each year from then on. I will continue to provide encouraging words to the children in my charge (school & community) and provide any finanicial assistance to families who might have had an unfortunate house fire. I'll start there.
