Well, the secret's out. Race is an issue in this election.

You should read some of the racists blogs on the net...being passed around just below the surface of the news media and the attention of most peoplein this country. Listen, whites are the ones that rarely get an opportunity to vote for a black person. They are the race that has had the comfort of voting for one of their own. Of course, many of us are voting for Barack because he is one of our own! But the question is, what will the overwhelming marjority of white folks do. It's their move to show they are not prejudice. This is their time to express fairness. We've always voted for white candidates for the President of the United States. What are they gonna do and why?

Me myself I don't know who I am voting for. I like Obama and I like some of McCain. I like some of Obama because I like what he is going to do for the war and the ecomony. I like some of McCain, but I just feel that he might be too old to be for President. Thats just my opinion. Obama, is young and wants to improve a lot of issues that are in America.

I do feel where you are coming at. I hear many people stating that blacks are only voting for Obama and whites are voting for McCain. Then I hear, and I can't stand hearing this that you won't vote for Obama because he is black. I really hate that statement. I am voting for a president that is going to make a difference and changes in America that we need. Someone that can do better than Bush.

Before people put words in my mouth. I am not saying or going to vote for Obama because I am on this website.

Because we have confused race (innate biology) and learned behavior (ethnic culture)...when a person looks at Barack they assume he should speak for the Black Culture. But culture is learned. You are born Black...and then you learn your flavor of African American ethnicity.

Until we know and understand the difference...people will continue to expect Barack to carry "all" Black issues forward...even if some of these issues are not his issues.

So I ask you...were Barack's ancestors part of the American Slave or Jim Crow systems?

Should he be forced to carry that cross for/with us...just because he's Black ?

What about his British/ French- American side...is he the spokesperson for them too?

If Barack shares your views on key issues vote for him...not his color. If Barack's not your guy, find someone who will promote your agenda and support them.

If you can't find anyone...start cleaning your own house so you can run one day.

Jessica and Ahmad, answer this question. How many white presidential candidates have blacks voted for in this country? Any idea? We always had to choose between 2 white candidates for President of the United States, both imperfect. Now why, when there's a black man running for the office, are we asked --not by you, necessarily, but by the pervasive racists in this country---to resist the urge to vote for someone, just as imperfect as those past white candidates, who happens to be black. Not only that, we're being called on the carpet for doing it. How unfair is that? Now Ahmad, I understand the difference between race and culture, but in this country and perhaps the world, color is something that is visible, culture requires more observation. And perhaps Obama and McCain are in the same culture, but for the first time, the presidential election is going to be a special challenge for most white people. For the most part, they judge, not by culture, but by race. This is their first opportunity to come face to face with their own heart problems--racism, prejudice, ignorant thinking. And many of them won't take the time to observe anything passed his color. My thesis is that different races are more difficult for whites to accept than it is for blacks. And the resistance that some whites have to voting for a black man, Barack Obama, even to the extent of changing parties, is interesting commentary.

Whenever a black man is presend it's always going to be a race issue? So yes, race is an issue!

Please don't get it twisted...Barack is the better choice for Black folks. In fact I've been asked to head one of his offices (still considering it). But neither Barack or I would want you to vote for anyone based on biology. Vote based on shared culture...of course...but not shared race.

You should support the person that supports you back...and in this election that's Barack!

From what I have been watching, it appears that Obama is the better choice for this country not just the Black community. Ever notice that small children don't see color they just see another small person close to their height, it is not until others point out the difference that it becomes an issue.

AS for this race card crap. Black folks don't need to use the race card because white America has played it, filp it, tossed it and completely exposed it from the door in order to justify their laws, hiring practices, public policy and everything else in this country that to this day, people of color are still fighting for equality.

Race will always be an issue it is also an underline psychological chain of slavery. Race is a word that is derived from its oppressor and until we as a nation understand that the system was set up and design to benefit White people, anything that goes against that grain will receive a certain level of misunderstanding. Anytime the underdog has placed him or herself above the tides, it is a force to be reckon with and is not something that easily accepted by White or Black people. But one thing we do know is that "we have done so much for so long with so little...we are now qualified to do anything with nothing."

No, Jonathan what you said is actually the God's truth according to my Black community about 35 miles north of Sacramento, Ca and my friends and family that were in Jacksonville. N.C when both of the Clintons were there for the media cameras to lie to our youthe like you and the whole world using specials like Black in America and just 1 proud African-American accept this as representations of "MY" race!!!!!. and if you see any of my comments any where on the site the majority of them will be about the FCC only allowing censored versions of the Black community. examples,

The Black version of what is racial profiling has been in this and every presidental campaing in this country! More pronounced it this one because of the false education that the main stream media can do (against us and using us to prove it!!!

Race and the memories of the Clintons' themselves fighting against us in Little Rock so 'violently' ( and by the use of ropes on trees to do so)is why this happend on their visit to the town of my birth. The Cintons were not allowed into Jacksonville, N.C. it self . President Clinton unlike Obama did not CHOOSE to not visit the troops in the bases hospital nor on the whole Marine corps base it self, because the same proud Black spirit did not end in the 60s it was what prevented these two things from happen. Yet, you have no way of knowing these facts. Yes, R-A-C-E did not just enter this as CNN states by leaving out "Obama is having trouble with older White women"!!!! This was our only way to fight against the media showing the Clintons in Black churches and speaking to the very people in those White only towns in N.C and VA. that like the Clintons have nerve gotten over the 60s, well we have not either. Not even the undying respect, loyalty and love for Obama would have allowedus to let Hillary Clinton to walk on the same street where we began our fight along with Dr. M. L. King.At least as one of us who took part in it lives on this planet!!! Lable it as any thing the KKK can , but to us it is being Proud and willing to die for EQUALITY just as fast today as yesterday of since we came to these American shores..
