autism awareness

i've worked in special education for eight years now. i rarely hear about many african americans with this disability. i think our culture sometimes don't admit to some disabilities and we therefore miss out on all the help and services that other cultures are receiving from birth until adulthood.

i work with many autism organizations as a volunteer and i see that there are many funds available. so let's be more advocates for this cause and receive all the help we can. many adults with autism can function very well in society, after years of special intervention during their young years.

My son is autistic. 6 years old now... It's a struggle. Share some info if you can.
