Black Male / Female Relationships

People might get involve with an adulterous relationship because they are bored and they fail victim to lust. In most cases, it might not have anything to do with loving the person they had the encounter with (at least, thats the impression I got from Bill Clinton, John Edwards and Bill Cosby). But I can't say that for Kwame Kilpatrick and Jesse Jackson. The obvious pick would be that men cheat more. Or is it that women are extremly good at it and do not get caught.

I believe that we live in an over s*xualized society wherein s*x sells and s*x is used in most venues as an attraction...so if s*x is over on over kill in our culture...what about the baggage that accompany it? It does not matter whom cheats first....cheating as been incorporated into the commercialization..... the results are obvious ..... most would deny it...but most people fantasize...all the time....and when a hint of the opportunity jumps at you......if you're human .....you'll bite!

Until we have a sense as to why we are involved in adulterous relationships we can't move toward solving anything. Hey John, do you believe that there is any way to resist adultery at all? Should we even try or is it a given that we are going to eventually fail at overcoming those ever present opportunities?

There is not one definite reason why people cheat. No, it doesn't have anything to do with today's society. People have been cheating since forever. It's just, back in the day it was more acceptable(for men that is) and hardly talked about. Men and women cheat; no more than the other. Asking why people cheat is as effective as asking why people lie. The question we should be asking is how do we strengthen the black relationship?

Hey Ms. Ebone! I disagree that we don't need to specifically discuss this issue and Im not sure why we want to gloss over this. From my vantage point, everyone is talking about how to strengthen the black relationship. But very few are trying to have a real conversation about why our moral fiber in the black community is eroding. Effectiveness is in the eye of the beholder. I am asking these questions to get some sense of the whys... When you know what motivates a person to do this and that then you can perhaps truly help that person or other people in the same predicament. Tell me this, why are women now cheating on an equal basis with men as you state sister?
