I was a HUGE fan of Elvis' as a child. I used to watch him and Shirley Temple religiously!
Kissing Cousins, Jailhouse Rock, Blue Hawaii were some of my favorites.
Dee and Tony! Thanks for your comments! I know there were and still fans of Elvis who are black and still liking his sound of music! By the way the Candle Light Visual was a success! I did'nt go, but when I drove by there on Friday preparations were going up for a fun night of celebrating. I liked the movie Roustabout too!

WOW! . . . an Elvis fan . . . and a black one at that . . . . LOL! Hey, don't feel like the Lone Ranger in here. I, too . . . at one point in my life . . . was a HUGE Elvis fan, somewhere between the ages of 8 and 12. I even did an Elvis impersonation. Then one day, my Mom sat me down and told me all the rumours about Elvis's misdeeds to black people. And nothing to the contrary could change her mind. Its was my Mom so I believed her and disassociated myself from all things Elvis. Later on in life I came across various contradictory information. Since I never knew the man or knew anybody that knew him I couldn't say which side was true. So within myself I resolved that yes, I did like some of the Elvis music and movies that wouldn't change. As far as the man himself, only he and God knows the truth.
