Gay Yearbook Put On Blast!

In New Mexico at Clovis High school, the student staff caused an uproar with this years yearbook. The famous yearbook has a section that features 11 lesbian couples with the title, "Do you want 2 go out?" Student editor Maggie Chavez said, " We just wanted 2 show that there is diversity. There are gay and lesbian couples in the school and they have a right 2 be in the yearbook just as much as anybody else does."

The student staff went on 2 explain that when making this conscious decision 2 feature gay couples, it was made with much consideration and discussion by the staff. Ultimately, the staff agreed 2 be diverse and open-minded 2 make a yearbook that all students could enjoy. There were heteros*xual couples featured as well.

Former Lt. Gov. Walter Bradley was extremely upset by the photos. Bradley who considers himself a parent and concerned christian had this 2 say, "I think it's highly inappropriate 2 place that in that venue. That is no place 4 that type of negligent exploitation of our kids. I do not in any way believe this reflects the attitudes and values of this community." Mr. Bradley also vows 2 never donate funds 2 the school anymore if it will be used on thing such as this.
(Sounds like 2 me maybe Mr. Bradley has a child that's gay and doesn't want it 2 be put on blast, as it would be a disgrace 2 his family......just thinking.)

Other christian community residents say they plan 2 protest in front of the school board. But a higher authority within the school system said they let the yearbook pass 4 publishing because, "It didn't violate any of the district policies." The yearbook is completely student produced, which makes sense, who knows more about the student experience in school then a student?

The yearbook staff members said they hold strong christian values as well, but the issue is a matter of discrimination. Staff member, Hardison said, "I believe God's OK with it. I don't think he cares what you wear, what color your skin is or who your with. I think he loves you 4 who you are."

There hasn't been an update whether the yearbook has been discontinued or not. But I have 2 give HUGE props 2 the 2 ladies who stood up 4 all gay and lesbian people all over the world! You go girls!

If these don't think God cares about "who you're with," they're very naive and misinformed. Wow. Export God, Import Even More Sin...great, just great.

The "world" has taken over.
