Alabama just passed legislation that state workers who receive free health insurance, will be charge $25.00 a month if they exceed 35 % of their body mass index. Alabama will be one of the first state to pass such legislation. Alabama is one of the fattest states in United States, according to the people who do this type of research. State workers have until 2010 too slim down. State workers who are making progress will be given an 1 year extension.

What do you think about this legislation? (pro or con)
Should workers be charge because they are obese or fat? or Should the state give incentives to workers who exhibit good health behaviors? (what would be a good incentive)

Thanks, MJ. Plus I don't think $25.00 dollars is asking too much in the first place. Alabama has over 37,000 state employees. I can't think of a better way to motivate people, than by hitting them in their paycheck.

Thanks for the tip. Ohio is adopting laws on the eating of less meat. Environmental Protection Agency is saying. Try Vemma. http://myvemma.com/lettiedavis
