What is Black Enough?

I saw a program about 2 weeks ago with Michelle Obama on TV ONE. She made a comment about how people have said Obama isn't black enough and if he's not black enough she's not black enough. I reminded me how I used to be called white girl by my friends when I was younger because I went to private school or I talked more proper than they did. When they used to say that I would respond by saying, just because my grammer is better than yours doesn't make me less black, and are you saying that black people talk ignorant? I never thought I was white or talked like a white girl, I just talk like I'm educated. To this day I still get made fun of. If people like Colon Powell, Condeleeza Rice, Bryant Gumble, Barck Obama, and myself aren't black enough, what is black enough?

i know what you mean . i also went to a private school, and talked proper english. i think that people should realize that black is not about a speech or a walk or a group you hang with. it's about you reaching for your full potential, whatever you choose it to be.

My opinion is that you are black enough when you wake up everyday realizing that you are black and are proud of it.
