You are right, but I wish white america would judge a person by his or her character and not by the color of their skin, because we're black doesnt mean we are all the same. people should begiven a chance to prove themselves and not judged by how someone else act.
I totally agree with you BD, about being given a chance to prove themselves and not judge. I am concerned with the many people who believe they don't have to prove "nothin' to nobody". That happens in all races.
Rarely do we, as individuals, get more than one chance to make a first impression. Too many times it is our mood, emotions or circumstances that dictate our "first impression".
Peter asked Jesus, "How often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times?" Jesus said, "No, not till seven times; but, Until seventy times seven." That is 490 times.
Too many people are unwilling to go that far with others. I am not saying that it isn't possible, because with God all things are. But what of those that don't have God, know God, or believe God? Those that believe this life is all there is? They realize that time is short. They simply choose not to waist their time "proving" themselves to anyone but to whom they choose to.
There again, are people who "train up" their children to hate, degrade, and disgrace others based on their skin color. It isn't right, but it still happens. That is why it is so important to focus on the youth of this world.
I am with you all that something needs to change concerning this issue. I stand with you all, and do my best with God everyday that He gives me, to make that change.
This is a good blog and I hope to see more posts, with more ideas on what has yet to be done. GB
Hope in one hand, ***t in the other, and see which one fills up faster! I know what you mean, MJ. Those who wonder what others are thinking about them, need to understand that they (others) aren't thinking anything about them, but about themselves and what they are presenting to the world. You can please some of the people some of the time, you can even please some people all the of the time, but you can't please all the people all the time. Good post MJ. Keep caring about the you you present to the world, and let them think what they will about you. If you are doing what God wants you to do, you don't have to answer to them but to Him anyway. Bless you.

I see your point. Yes, many white people are scared of black people, based on the ones seen in mainstream media, be it MTV, MSNBC, newspapers or magazines. Any information to the contrary of the image the media wants to portray is omitted.
How many black/African American brothers and sisters fear those (mostly white) people in power to be likened to Brigham Young?
Oppinions are like butt holes (excuse the term), everyone has one, and they usually stink!
I personally know too many good black folks, as not to be so closed minded as other white folks. We would be wise to TRULY understand God's Wisdom, that no two of us are the same.
Not all southern white folk are ___________ like George W., Brigham Young, Paris Hilton, "rednecks", either.
This is something that must change on all sides of the race card. PERIOD!
