Obama vs. McCain -- 34 days to go. No excuses. I voted today!

I went to cast my early vote today.

I have been voting all my adult life -- waiting in long lines, braving bad weather, and dealing with the stress of fitting this into my work schedule. Here in Ohio, the early voting polling stations are open Monday through Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This flexibility provides many voters with the opportunity to truly vote at your convenience.

There is no excuse to miss the opportunity to vote. In Ohio, it is even possible to register and vote on the same day -- up to October 6th. So, I am joining many volunteers who are transporting unregistered voters, seniors, and those without transportation to the early voting place.

Every indication points to the largest turnout in recent history. Don't miss the opportunity vote early. In my blog yesterday, I listed all the states that offer early voting. Check your state requirements and take advantage of this convenience. There is no excuse for not voting in this historic election.

Every vote counts!

What a life, I have lived when it comes to being proud of first votes in my family. My first vote was for a 1st, John F. Kennedy. Now my oldest grand child's first vote will be for another 1st, Barack H. Obama.

I will be there in spirit with granddaughter telling her grandchildren the great, proud vote story I have told my grandchildren about my first vote.

I must vote in person November 4, 08!
