How I Use Twitter To Build My List

How I Use Twitter To Build My List

I have to admit I was one of the people who could not see a valid reason to use Twitter one year ago. I signed up reluctantly, and answered the ‘What are you doing?’ question from time to time. They only give you 140 characters to answer this question, so you have to be creative and take advantage of sites like Tinyurl and others to get your message out there.

Then something changed. All of a sudden, about 6 months ago, everyone was sharing what they were doing in a very different way. Overnight it all seemed to make sense to me. As time went on many people found me by searching for keywords such as ‘eBook writing’. My list began to grow, and these new prospects were all interested in what I do on the internet. I now share what I am teaching in my courses or on my teleseminars, and regularly give away my latest special reports.

Now I tweet regularly. I also have help from sites like Ezine Articles, who automatically send a tweet whenever I have a new article published, and Tweetlater, that tweets my blog posts every 12 hours. There are so many ways to feed Twitter that can be done without you having to be there in person.

But part of the fun is actually being there live. I have connected with people on Twitter in a way that can’t be compared to anything else, even meeting them in person. I encourage you to get involved, find a few people to follow, and then see who they are following to find even more people. If there is anyone in particular you are trying to connect with, do a search and you can easily find them.

Pam thanks for explaining twitter, because I didn't know what the heck it was. It is really nice that you have been able to network with folk. I think I will check it out.

Just sign-up the other day and didn't have a clue what the heck was happening. I will stick with it now. Thanks for the insight.

I further became a household name with twitter. Even got a message from McCain asking me about taxes. My definition of twitter is that "twitter is the end waiting to happen."... in the mean time it is real time public opinion. More important than the people you follow is the topics you follow and the information disseminated. Search twitter at http://www.dryerbuzz.com for some great tips on using twitter LIVE such as tonight with the debates.

Make sure to feed your twitter back to your site. Also try http://www.posterous.com great site to feed all your networks.
