"As A Survivor"
|
Posted By: TaNisha Gray Juisee Da Queen on February 14, 2009 "As A Survivor" As a survivor sometimes the memories flood my mind then my eyes began to cry... So many tears remembering the lost years. Yet not tears of pain and anguish, but tears of no longer living in fear or wishing I'd somehow vanish. Disappear off of the face of the earth, not feeling as if my life had any worth. Yes I recall the hell very well... I've grown now!!! Thank God I made it cuz I have a story to tell... It may save a life or open some eyes maybe even get some to realize it don't matter about the why's and how's just be there when she's down, tired and had her last straw and really needs a helping hand to find her way out!!! As a survivor I feel so blessed, cuz some of my sistah's didn't make it out of that mess... Alive or in one piece So many lives lost or changed forever. Yet not lives lost in vain or without memories but lost to move on to where they'll have lasting love and better especially everlasting peace. Yet not live always changed for the worst Some grow, move on and find their inner worth Tranquility beyond belief, Finding that with God there is relief. Yes I recollect their existence or experiences very well... I am she and she is me!!! Thank God I made it, cuz in their memory or involvement the story I must tell!!! It may change the heart of a man who chooses to abuse, knowing in the end he'll only lose the respect of the world and how he's looked upon for deciding to raise his hand in anger and use another human being as his pawn. As a survivor I vow to always have a listening ear for those who haven't yet learned that they don't have to live in fear... I'll always lend a helping hand or encouraging words of advice, cuz the 10th time may very well be the time that she decides to listen and develop a master plan to get out using all of her womanly devices. After all... As a survivor "I Am She & She Is Me"!!! Ta'Nisha G. Feb. 2, © 2009 4:14 a.m. If you enjoyed this article, Join BlackInAmerica.com today for similar content and opportunities via email! |

Sounds like a survivor's manual based in poetry--share!! For Christmas why not send a copy to all the Homeless Shelters and Women's Shelters?

Thanks for the idea Martha... Website Administrative Assistant/Homemaker at SeeingGrowth/Self Employed I still keep in contact with many of my former coworkers at the local domestic violence shelter and I often pass on my material for just that purpose but I never thought of sending it out for others at Christmas time. I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment on my work. Friday, February 20th 2009 at 1:17AM |
