Jen Fad Nurse at Healthcare Success happens to people who prepare for it and better yet for children of parents who invest in it (kids success). I can't speak for other Black parents, but I'm investing in my child's future now (he's five and we're started a tax free account) as well as making sure he's excelling in the things a child is suppose to know for his age group. I know this may be an unpopular example, but Tiger Wood's father taught him the game of golf and helped him perfect his game. The Williams' sisters' father did the same for them regarding tennis... Send them to schools whos aim is to prepare them for college. Make sure they have good balck teachers in a quality black environment.
