Ron Gray Sr. Bus Operator (Retired) at Chicago Transit Authority Growing up in Chicago's Bronzeville area in the 50's, 60's I saw many of the conditions mentioned here in this article for myself. The Catholic school and churches was there, The so-called jewish landlords, store owners, pawnshops, liquor stores, and a like was all there making money in the Black ghetto and taking the money out of the hood, which is a direct link to what happen to the inner cities, not only in Chicago but the nation.. Now I also saw the boom and the bust of the Black business in that neighborhood as well. Brother Butcher, reading this article brought back some memories of the successful Chicago Black business owners. I think that this article is a good read and I will pass this word right along.
