I am a member of the Five Percent Nation Of Gods and Earths (an offshoot of the Nation Of Islam). All my childhood I was taught to get with the White Man (devil's) theory of how we as Black Africans came into existence. Don't get me wrong, I had always had the respect of my pastors and made A's in all my Sunday School classes. However, as I aged and acquired more wisdom, I realized that all that had been taught to me (such as how Black Africans are 3/5ths of a person, how George Washington is the so-called First President Of the U.S., how X-mas is the so-called birthday of Jesus, how Mary the mother of Jesus had him through immaculate conception, etc.) has all been lies. But the good thing is that since leaving the church and becoming a member of the Five Percent Nation, I woke up. I began to see. I began to speak out.
