Q&A With Darlene Robinson

What methods have you and are you using to asssist our people toward self-determination and better male/female relations, which is the cornerstone of
"I believe that my help in educating our people about their past greatness on this planet historically will encourage more of the Black men (especially the younger generation) to have a better appreciation and show more respect for the Black women in their lives. When we are more confident we can achieve more in everything we do, including self-determination and personal relationships too."

Interviewed by Mark Wilson 05/31/10

What can you do to change the world?
"I feel that I am already making changes for my people that will in effect change the world. I am dedicated to getting more Black people to buying from Black businesses to help create a more stable economy in our communities. Every other ethnic group takes care of their own first and we as a people need to get back to doing that. I know that a $5, $10 or $20 purchase can keep a small Black business going another hour or another day. I am proud that I have helped move Black made products into the hands of Black Consumers which is recycling our dollars back into our communities."

Interviewed by Marshall Mazyck 05/28/10

How would you elimnate the economic disperity, in America?
"I believe the only way to break the chains of economic slavery in this country is educating our people about how money REALLY works! A lot of information has been hidden from us for years. Then there are products/services that have been designed to keep us back, the redlining for the sub-prime mortgages and bombardment of giving us multiple credit cards and many of us don't even know what a credit score is or how lenders view their credit (i.e, interest rates, etc)"

Interviewed by Joan Gilchrist 05/28/10

Why do you blog?
"I am selective about my blogs, either I want to get some little know information out about something in the news that affects the Black community. Or I want to let others know about positive events going on in the Black Community."

Interviewed by Marsha Jones 05/28/10

What is your goal for 2010?
"To strictly follow my game plan that I have set in order to reach my goal of getting 500 more Black consumers buying from Black businesses! Every other ethnic group actively looks inside their own communities to spend their money. Part of my goal for 2010 is to show the impact of how much stronger our communities would be if we recycled our dollars."

My BlackInAmerica.com Profile
Why Are You Concerned About Black America:
Black money belongs in the Black community. Each year, in the U.S. alone, Black people earn hundreds of billions of dollars in income. Currently, we only spend about 5% of that with Black-owned businesses. The other 95% goes to other communities, along with jobs, wealth and prosperity. Let's work together and bring Black money home where it belongs... in the Black community. What Spending Your Money With Black-Owned Businesses Does When you spend money with Black-owned businesses, it contributes to the entire Black community. Every dollar you spend with Black-owned businesses helps to: • create more jobs in our own communities • create more wealth in the Black community • create more opportunities • create successful Black-businesses • reduce crime & drugs • help more Black people get into business • instill more pride, respect and FREEDOM for us all With more money in our community, we can build our own schools, our own stores, our own banks, everything that we need to have a prosperous community!
