Want to get involved in a campaign?
The New Jersey Democratic State Committee is hosting a FREE training program for Democrats interested in running for an elected position or getting involved in politics. In order to accommodate the most people, we will be holding three trainings, one each in south, central and north Jersey.
June 12th - Cherry Hill
June 19th - East Brunswick
June 26th - Newark
Our trainings are focused on people running in or working on local campaigns and topics will include Fundraising, Media Relations and Messaging, Field Strategies and Internet/New Media communications.

I remember doing some things that other women thought was paranoia---
I remember going out on a date with a barber who has gave me a nice fade for a short hair style-- On our first and only date -- he displayed behavior that seems odd and possessive in nature of me (someone he'd only just met) He'd brought me home to my apartment, but as I hurriedly got out of his car I left my take out in his car.
Next thing I know the door bell rings--- I spoke through the door--- it was him and he said that I'd left my food in his car (it was only leftover salad). I told him through the door--- to throw it out or he could eat it. I never went to his barbershop Again.

I remember years ago hiring a guy to do some landscaping for me. He asked me to leave the back gate unlocked so that he could do some work when I wasn't home, but I told him that I didn't feel comfortable doing that and I'd prefer that he do work when I was home.
He became really offended and told me that I wouldn't have said that if he'd been a White guy asking the same thing. I said to him that I was sorry he felt that way, but I went on to say that as a single woman, I have to do what I feel comfortable doing and futhermore I wouldn't leave my gate unlocked for anyone irrespective of his skin.

Of course there are more things I did, but if you are the father of daughters please teach them to use that 6th sense that all women have that originates in their gut (gut instincts) because it will never lead them wrong Ever!

Where were you when I was looking for a good African American brother is what I want to know?!! I know --- your wife had already snatched you up!! ((L0L)) Tell her that I'm not 'mad at her'. Seriously though I do want to say thank you for your love for our community and our people. I see the passion in your blog posts. Keep it up brother and I pray that the Almighty God continues to bless you and the family as well as enlarge your territory/ coast. (((Hugs))

Hi, and thank you for becoming my frind. If you go to the Africa the Mother Land blog and read my few comments to this post, you will see my life before college and what better use I have been able to use all of this to help my race.
More so to help keep our African culture used by us to survive alive to keep us alive as a united people. Those comments tell my whole life and after I am gone how my college education will live on and how it will be able to do so. Then, please get back to me. O.K.?

I am very interested in how you would like to see more 'press release". Would you be interested in the fight to force the FCC to stop the censorship of "Black in America" unity? for example, a future press release sayiny something like,"Don Lemon's years of awards for reporting the news has paid off; he is now a CNN ANCHOR"!
This press release would be the result of a unified Black community's years of fighting for this to become news on CNN itself.Please believe me, there is a community of "united" Blacks who have been for years recording every offensive they see by the media as seen through the culture of African-American,mainly the lack of press about the unity of our Black community, as a major, major part of Black in America
