I am passionate about the pursuit of progress and accountability within the African American community. To often, we focus on the actions of external people or institutions, while ignoring solutions and opportunities clearly within our own power to achieve. Over the past 3 decades, we have seen an abdication of principled, strategic leadership by many of our national and local organizations, in large part due to a failure to practice accountability within our community. I am interested in efforts that focus on the power within our community to achieve political and socioeconomic change based on principled, effective, strategic action in our own self interest.
