Most Memorable Moment:
As a student working part time for the City of Chicago's Department of Personnel, I met the young man, I first saw at a high school dance. I meet him on a Thursday. I was having my lunch of liver and onions with corn on the side. I was sitting by myself at a table, reading a book near the back stairwell on the 11th floor, when I heard someone bounding up the steps. I looked up and we made eye contact and we both said hi. When he went passed the corner, I remember saying to myself, WOW!!!, but I went back to reading and eating. Next thing I know, he came back rolling a chair and as he walked up to table, he told me his name, his parents names, his address and phone number. I was so surprised, I just laughed. He's been bringing laughter and smiles to my heart ever since.
High School: St. Thomas Apostle Hight in Chicago, IL class of 1972

Best Memories:
I attended STA from 1968-1972. An all-girls Catholic High School. It was small enough where everyone could shine in their on particular strengths. Sometimes it was too small, when it came to showing up our weaknesses. Going there was not my idea in the beginning, but as it turned out, Mom did know best. I probably would have been a lost soul at Kenwood High School. At STA, I even got a preview of my future/current husband. I was a sophomore when I first laid eyes on him at a school dance we held. I happened to be at the welcome table set up to greet guests as they arrived. While one of my friends checked to see if his name was on a list as an invite since he didn't attend any of the catholic boys school in the area, he leaned on the table and looked up to where I was standing and we made eye contact. He smiled and then winked at me. I fell for his beautiful brown eyes. However, he was already taken; he was was seeing an upper classmate.

My BlackInAmerica.com Profile
Why Are You Concerned About Black America:
I'm concerned about Black America straying from our spiritual and moral foundation. Getting caught up in the things of the world - lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life. I worry especially for the younger generation of Black-Americans who only know how to cause pain because they are so full of pain and anger themselves; living in situations where there is no purpose and no hope. I'm concerned about the steady increase in black-on-black crime against children.

Daddy says, hate the sin not the sinner. You are a child of God, and my sister in faith. We all fall short of the glory, and are called to lift one another up in love. Keep steppin', knowing He is with you. Be blessed and highly favored today. GB
