Why Are You Concerned About Black America:
I believe that what we do over the next twenty years will affect the next 200 years. I truly believe that the younger generation, if properly guided will prove to be the strongest, smartest and most fearless generation that we have ever produced. But we must believe in them...and act upon that belief. I have witness the greatness of young people many times over and I am excited about the possibilities that our future holds...provided we properly engage them.

Hello Almas Jamil! It's been a long time since we chatted and I have been into quite a bit as several sites on the internet will attest. I hope you will follow me on www.eHow.com. I am very concerned about the up coming flu season and the activity of this swine flu bug in the southern hemisphere. You have heard by now that it has entered Buckingham Palace, forcing the Queen to order renewed disinfecting. Of course, she has moved out and is now at Balmoral. And did you also note that though it was still human virus, it mutated earlier this summer. Scientist have not manufactured a vaccine, infections continue at a faearsome rate and any prudent chances for testing are dwindling as the summer hastens to end and the time for school bells to ring get closer. Whose "House" is next to confront this pandemic? A concern raising quite a bit of anxiety about now. I'll be addressing the swine flu, the Department of Energy's Weatherization Assistance and other aspects of the President's Stimulus that remain viable, even in the midst of ongoing criticisms of his program, no matter the pro or con postion one may take.

Interesting! I am a black woman with a college degree having a rough time finding a good job in Ohio. I presently am a substitute teacher. It is hard trying to get our black youth to understand the importance of a good education. We deal with so many behavior problems in the school system. We definitely need more positive black male role models. It is so hard to find positive black men to converse with too. Most want to get me between the sheets. I hope to gain friendships on this site.

Thanks for your comment, brother Gibson. We will get there so long as those of who "know" reach out to and have empathy for those who have been left behind... and are lost and confused.

Your concern is so true, and you can probably narrow that down to the next 10 years. Which is why this election is so crucial. Get someone registered to Vote!
