A Stolen Legacy: The denial and hiding of true Black History, Part I (563 hits)

Somehow Black History Month has come to mean AFRICAN AMERICAN history month. That the only Black people that will be studied are the ones who’s history begins on the shores of America. In other words, it’s a slave history. I call it a SLAVE history because it begins with us as Slaves or only moments prior to our being enslaved. It goes on to show us our accomplishments since slavery as pinnacles of our success as a people. But, what this history does not show us is Our people living without colonization. It does not show what structure of schools, business, religion, medicine, architecture and science we had 4000 to 5000 years ago. And why not? Is it that this history does not exist? Is it that it has not been documented? Of course it has!

So where is one to find this information? And, what would the possible benefits be from having this information? I was once given a book from which I borrowed the title for this article, “The Stolen Legacy.” In reading it, not only was I shocked by what the author was writing but I was even further shocked at the fact I had never heard of the book. After making some calls I was even further shocked that no one I knew had ever heard of this book. In short, the book is about how there is NO SUCH THING AS GREEK PHILOSOPHY. The author wrote that most, if not all, of Greek knowledge and wisdom came from Black people in Egypt. It was written by George G.M. James, a Black College professor from Arkansas in 1954. His research was very compelling even though a little hard to read at times. But, while reading I couldn’t help but think about how we worship the genius of European Greeks in our college Fraternities and Sororities. To think that the actual letters we should be wearing are of the Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics (one of the oldest forms of writing created by Black people).

But to continue, I started to wonder what other books had managed to stay out of my history classes and out of the classes and lives of most of the people I knew. A friend of mine told me of a book that a friend of his was bringing him and he thought I might be interested in it. The book was “The Isis Papers” by Francis Cress Welsing. I won’t go into the depths of how eye opening this book was, but in the back was a little catalogue by the publisher, “Third World Press.” I contacted them and purchased one of the greatest history books I have read to date, and I’ve read a great many. It is called, “The Destruction of Black Civilization” by Chancellor Williams. This book didn’t just state scientific and historical facts, it laid out in detail how Ancient Blacks went from being the dominate force in the world in Civilization to our current status. Dr. Williams spent 16 years researching and developing this classic and if you don’t read any other history book, you should certainly read this one.

Since my journey that began with The Stolen Legacy 19 years ago, I have found over 150 books that speak truth to our history and current social, political, and economical position in the world. Notice again that I said FOUND over 150. If this information is the result of research equal to and surpassing current scholarly works (and it is), why are they not readily available? Neither in the schools or major bookstore chains can they be found? Why is this information deemed inappropriate by this society? According to many, “Black’s don’t read much anyway” so why not make these books available?

It’s because the truth that is in them will truly set you free! And, free Black Minds WILL force a change in the current dynamic of White over Non-White the world over.

Think about it, how is it possible that in every part of the world where Black people and White people are in close proximity, Whites are on top, financially, socially, educationally and politically? Are they truly more intelligent and unified than we are? If so, how and when did that come about? Are they a higher evolution of being than we are? What is it that makes it possible for them to be on top no matter where you find us together? Until you can answer that question with evidence of a solution, then we will remain in this Mis-educated state mentally or spiritually.

Our answers are in the hidden knowledge that I’ll be discussing in upcoming articles.
