If I could give the black community just 10 things……… (198 hits)

I am certainly not in position to expound Holy Scriptures. I have skeletons in my closet I would rather not talk about; however, this one Christian scripture 1 Corinthians 13:11 has stuck with me since I first heard it. “When I was a child, I talked like a child; I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me”.
I am older now, like many of you; I have done well in America. I am tucked away in a beautiful neigh hood with new schools and Saturday soccer games. My home is nothing like where I came from. I was born in the deep south outfitted with confederate racism and “all around” hopelessness. One muggy summer afternoon, I found myself presented with an opportunity. Of all the stupid mistakes I had made in my early 20s, I took advantage of one lucky break and moved away for an education.
Much like 1 Corinthians 13:11, I am not a child anymore and now a man. I think about my struggling family back home and my brothers and sisters all across America. I, for one, do not want to die without trying to give back to my community. I think that’s one reason many of us are blogging the best way we know how. Many of us speak from the heart and are honest activist for this great cause or another.
Without money, it is darn near impossible to do anything; including doing anything big that could help build a healthier black community. So, I find myself somewhat depressed about my lack of ability, listening to Coltrane or Miles, madly typing something or nothing on my laptop. Soon, my wife will burst into my office, yelling how the kids are not doing this or that. I will go upstairs and be a father and spend time with my wife discussing the sweet nonsense of our days. I will forget all about the issues of the black community, until tomorrow, when I read the news.
If I had funds to push my agenda for a healthier black community, I would build an organization and push these ten solutions with all my might:
1) Build world class professional trade schools in impoverished communities
2) Accelerate minority corporate ownership by providing private equity loans
3) Assist in monetary funding for qualified minorities to run for local and national public service
4) Be responsible for instilling noble values in minority youth and call out media entities that do otherwise
5) Create local and national programs that reward minority youth for keeping clean records
6) Start a national campaign to repair and heal the perceived relationship with police and judges.
7) Purchase real estate that can be used for farming, livestock and manufacturing facilities
8) Partner with attorneys nationwide and help pay fees for grossly unjust trial cases against minorities
9) Publish books, films, TV, music and other media products that disassemble negative black stereotypes
10) Provide fully paid tuition scholarships to the brightest minorities that seek advanced technical degrees

I put together 10 solutions that I believe will improve the health from head to toe in the black community. I believe these 10 solutions will enrich a great percentage of people and create generational wealth. I want to be able to look back and say “this is how it was and this is what I did to change it”. Now, all I need is an organization, a few bagillion dollars and 40 million willing and non-opposing people. Well, you know the worst thing about a dreamer ……………..is waking up. Hmmmp, maybe thinking like a child wasn’t so bad after all.

I like the way you think, but you need to be very specific and say "black people" or those of "African descent" because someone would find a loop hole and decided that your plan needs to be more inclusive.

Hello Mr. Weston,

When will you understand that if an individual does not have his own he does not have anything? Likewise, when Black Americans who are descendents of slaves do not have their own they do not have anything.

I said all that to say the one most important thing is your aspirations or what you call your solutions has left out Black America’s desire to become a sovereign people or have complete independence on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders.

Do you not think that sovereignty should precede all the solutions you have listed? Black Americans must understand that they could not achieve anything good in lasting unless their hands are on the helm of their own destiny. How difficult is that for you to understand, Mr. Weston?

Perhaps you believe it is not possible or unrealistic that Black Americans will ever or should have their hands on the helm of their own destiny. If you do, then you are still thinking as a child. I would suggest that you go back to the drawing board until you become mentally mature to come up with good and permanent solutions. None of your solutions guarantees permanency since all that you believe will help Black Americans will be in the domain of White America, who ultimately could disrupt or pull the plug on your solutions.

I do not think that you could see far enough to understand that White America owns the real estate of this country and the signatories to the Declaration of Independence proves me right. As a comparison and contrast, the Chinese people own the real estate of China.

Black America needs and will come to have a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders to pursue life, liberty, happiness and prosperity in our own way. Then and only then will we feel secure that what ever we do to improve the quality of our lives will be permanent. Consequentially, the concept of having sovereignty or complete independence is what should precede your superficial solutions since sovereignty will be permanent. Am I making any sense with you Mr. Weston?

Tell me what you think.

Hello Mr. Clark,

Mr. Weston presented a list of solutions that he feels could help and make a difference in the lives of Black Americans who are descendents of slaves.

I beg to differ that while Mr. Weston list of solutions are good they would never make a difference in the lives of Black Americans since the list of solutions must come to rest on a permanent and solid foundation. Black Americans do not have such a foundation until we begin to entertain the concept of becoming a sovereign people or having complete independence on a portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with borders.

In other words, the only way that Mr. Weston’s solution could work, Black Americans must have their hands on the helm of our own destiny.

We have been proposing solutions since Mr. Frederick Douglas days and we are still subjugated people in the same dilemma as Mr. Frederick Douglass was in the 18 hundredths.

Mr. Clark, you and Mr. Weston know what I am saying is accurate. Therefore, when you say, Mr. Clark that Mr. Weston list of solutions should be explored and expanded on, that his solutions could create a similar opportunities for others as well as create for Black Americans good jobs do not make any sense until we come to entertain the concept of becoming a sovereign people on a portion of this current.

Now, if Mr. Weston’s solutions were softball type resolutions as being subservient in White America’s society then that would be different, even though Mr. Weston would be called an Uncle Tom. But since Mr. Weston’s solutions are hardball, type resolutions they will not work in White America’s society. Black Americans must become a sovereign people otherwise our next generation will be repeating the same foolishness, am I right. It is said that a person or a people that repeats that action while expecting a different result is considered crazy. Do you think the statement is true and that it applies to us?

Tell me what you think.

Hello Mr. Clark,

I understand what you are saying. However, what you are saying is not the same thing as I have been saying all along.

Let me make it clear that Mr. Weston’s list of solutions I am not against it. However, the point that I am arguing is that we have either one of two choices sitting on the shelf to choose. Number 10 of Mr. Weston’s list of solutions or sovereignty you will have to put one in the front of the other. Now, even if you could accomplish number 10 and sovereignty one will have to come before the other one. Therefore, what I am saying to you is that your efforts and sacrifices should go towards becoming a sovereign people. If you sacrifice more towards number 10, you will become educated but not sovereign. Consequentially, your dilemma will persists keeping you in the situation of reaching out for these fragile items rather than reaching for the solid and permanent item of sovereignty.

For instance, Dr. George Washington Carver, Dr. Martin Luther King and Dr. Frederick Douglass were educated men. Nevertheless, these men lived out their lives subjugated. Consequentially, their education did not guarantee them sovereignty on a portion of this continent that they could call their very own country with borders.

At the same time, I am not suggesting that anyone do nothing except stand on the street corners wasting their lives as you suggested. By saying this, you are giving my permanent solution of sovereignty a black eye.

I am saying the time will come that you all will gather with me as metal particles stick to a magnet. That time has not come yet since you do not see sovereignty as your permanent solution even though God is ready for you. Subliminally speaking you all does not really have faith in your sovereignty even though you know it is your permanent solution. You have more faith in these superficial solutions, that is why you want them on the front burner, and I want them on the back burner. Am I making any sense with you, Mr. Clarke?

The time will come when many of you will say to me Harry lets meet to explore and expand on the concept of sovereignty. The time will come when my message of sovereignty as our only permanent solution will take hold of you.

Right now, you all are having fun dialoguing as a good rational mental exercise. For me it is not mental exercising because I know what is going to happen, so it is not a rational mental exercise for me.

For instance, I told the Christians and Muslims alike that neither Christianity nor Islam would be our religion. At first, they became irritated because they love their self-chosen religion. However, they have become more relaxed, which helps them to understand what I am saying. I noticed this when one of them would ask me, then Harry what will our religion be? I told them, The Salvation of God for Black Americans Who Are Descendents of Slaves and I explain to them why. So they are slowly coming around to understanding why Christianity and Islam will not be our religion.

Likewise, you all are going to come around that you must put sovereignty in front of number 10 of Mr. Weston’s list of solutions. Am I making any sense?

Again, when you hear enough of me God will encourage you to gather with me. When the Hebrew people heard enough of Moses and it took them, approximately 20 years just to hear enough they began to gather and the Exodus became possible. Do you get the picture Mr. Clark?

Tell me what you think.
