The President Addresses Today’s Students: “The Farther you Go in School, the Farther you'll Go in Life.” (270 hits)

In a recent address directed towards our nation’s students. President Barack Obama pinpointed the importance of a successful education as a path to life achievements.
While this is not a new topic, and certainly has been noted throughout the renewal of education reform here in the US, the reality is our college graduation rates are still low and the emphasis seems to still lie with “getting in” to college, and not obtaining an actual degree.

In his speech, Obama noted, “More and more, the kinds of opportunities that are open to you will be determined by how far you go in school. In other words, the farther you go in school, the farther you'll go in life. And at a time when other countries are competing with us like never before; when students around the world are working harder than ever, and doing better than ever; your success in school will also help determine America's success in the 21st century.”
Recent applications of Microsoft CRM (Customre Relationship Management) at the college level gives university faculty an advantage in monitoring and managing the thousands of students that walk through campus every day, which should help with college dropout rates.

However, the President’s speech and the points therein, directed towards the students themselves, needs to become a mantra that is repeated by parents, family, faculty and teachers at every level of education. Our kids need to understand that a college education is not an option but a requirement for them.

Take the time to talk to your kids or your students often about the need for a successful college education and the enormous impact it can have on their quality of life and future goals.
