Last time, on “Let Us Tell Are Real Black History,” we explored Ham and his children, which Ham according to The Holy Bible is the progenitor of the dark races.
Today, I want to go right to Jacob, whose name was changed by the Most High to Israel. Let us go into Genesis 37 we don’t have to talk crazy when we have a story to tell, let’s talk book and not crazy for a change because that is, all the conversation in the world, true book conversation that is.
This is Jacob and his son, Genesis 37 and 1. And Jacob dwelt in the land wherein his father was a stranger, in the land of Canaan.
See we grew up in the land of Canaan because that is the land promise to Abraham by The Most High and into his seed also name after Ham’s son.
2 These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.
Now see the Brothers of Joseph did not like him very much, because Joseph would run and snitch on them to the father.
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.
4 And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.
Now that is something that you should keep in mind Brothers and Sisters. I see this happening in a lot of Big families, favoritism. Well you know that he is my baby boy! No, if they are your children then all should be your favorites. Because when you make a difference, you make your children hate one another and hate you too! So, they hated him and could not have a sensible and peaceful conversation with him.
I am going to skip down to verse 12 And his brethren went to feed their father's flock in Shechem. 13 And Israel said unto Joseph, Do not thy brethren feed the flock in Shechem? come, and I will send thee unto them. And he said to him, Here am I.
So, when they went down to feed the sheep, they saw him coming.
Lets skip down to verse 18 And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him.
All of a sudden they plodded to kill him / Joseph because his own Brothers did not like him, they did not care about him, even though, this was their own flesh and blood brother.
So, let me skip down to verse 21 And Reuben heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands; and said, Let us not kill him.
That was the only Brother who cared enough to save Joseph’s life because his other brothers wanted to kill him badly.
22 And Reuben said unto them, Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit that is in the wilderness, and lay no hand upon him; that he might rid him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father again.
It was Reuben plan was to buy Joseph some time by putting him in the pit, so he could sneak Joseph away from his other Brothers and get him back to his father. Reuben was the oldest Brother so, he was a point man of the family but by that time, something else had happen.
26 And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood? 27 Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother and our flesh.
So they sold him to the Arabs, that is the Ishmeelites, because he is are Brother. And his brethren were content.
28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt. Take note of this recorded History.
The first one to sell us, was us! So, when you start talking about other people selling you, is the first thing you do is look in the mirror and look at your kind first. So, they brought Joseph to Egypt.
36 And the Midianites sold him into Egypt unto Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh's, captain of the guard. When Joseph got to Egypt, he was sold to the Captain of Pharaoh's guard. When Joseph got down there, The Lord started blessing him, as head of the household.
know that I am a little longwinded but let us take a look in The Book of Genesis 39 for a moment verse 1
And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither. 2 And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
Now look, I see that the Brothers is always joining Ishmael and his religion and on the other hand, you got the Egyptologist trying to make everybody Egyptians. Look, these guys of the past had collaborated on buying and selling you and you are talking about my Brother, that’s because you are in ignorance. We want to lay this slavery and everything at the feet of the so-called white folks. We are going to find out that you have not been treated bad as people who look like you, have treated you in the past. You don’t know what bad treatment is.
3 And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
Potiphar saw that there was something different about Joseph, the Lord must be with this guy but he was not the only one who was looking at Joseph too.
6 And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured. 7 And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
I will stop here for a moment because I know that I am a little longwinded for this section. Time flies when you are having a ball teaching.
