To The Administration of Black In America

This isn't a new issue and has been the cause of much tension in the past (as far back as 2009). There have been conspiracy theories about what causes this rolling back of numbers and there hasn't been a solution or reason that I know for it. My best understanding of this phenomenon is that its glitches in the system and a tool of the enemy of our souls to cause division.

WOW! That is something to think about. what has the admin staff have done about this problem since 2009?

Is there something one can do? Can the hit numbers be restored because in the last tree days I would be at 103,595 or more mark.

I really don't know Deac. Can you answer this question for me because I have never really understood why it matters about the numbers. Why exactly does it matter how many hits on a blog?

In my thinking I thought that tool was put on this site as an incentive to do better as a "Most Popular Blogger."

When you earn that privilege for many hours of contributing to building up this site, in my case and see three thousand to fore thousand hits just taken from you in a matter of days, I tend to ask myself why? What went wrong? If this is a computer glitch, why now and why is this happening at this time? Should Website Administrators be alerted that this phenomenon is happening and is there a cure for this? A great cure would be the restoration of those hits that was well documented in the body of this blog.

Now Sister Fa, don't get me wrong, I enjoy the communication between the membership here on Black in America and it is alright if we can't always agree, but if this taken of close to four thousand hits from me is a computer glitch, this is one thing, that can be fixed and restored but if this is some jealousy thing, that would be a sad state of affairs, that is allowed to happen with the admin of Black In American. That would be unthinkable...

A computer glitch can take a long time to fix. And the administration doesn't necessarily have the same priorities as the members.

This type of suspicion was the reason for the tension and fall outs in the past. Don't even give it a second thought. Cast that thought down Deac. Ha!

I have changed my password and I will continue to keep this in the HOPE column. I would love to hear from the admin, to put this thing to rest.

That is why I said that this jealousy thing would be unthinkable...

The software for this system, BIA is a patchwork. Whomever they got the popular bloggers feature from might not even be in business still. If there's no one to fix it, it won't get fixed.

I will stand by for one of the admin staff. Are you one of those members?

Deacon Gray, I remember when I joined this site and needed help learning how to navigate through the different site features, and I asked a question about how blog numbers are determined. I received the following explanation:

Brother Deacon, I am not (and was never) an administrator of this site, and I could say a mouthful on this subject but I won't take up much time here. I will say this:

People like myself that blog, and do this often, they enjoy and take pride in what they do. Most of all, they know where they stand at all times when they do it. Not only can administration read what I'm/we're writing, but they can control numbers and edit what you say if they choose to.

This problem that you described is one of the reasons that some of our most beloved and talented top bloggers (Marta Fernandez, Mozell Fleming, Katherine Barnes, to name a few) aren't here anymore. I repeat, ONE of the reasons.

They noticed what you're mentioning, eons ago and spoke up by bringing it to the attention of those who should've mattered. Apparently nothing was done that could be considered equitable or resolved or even looked into, so they considered that to be unreasonable, causing them to leave the site without so much as a backwards glance.

Also, those same site members that I've mentioned above have said that some of their blogs were edited by others. What was that about? Was it personal? So with that said, I would suspect jealousy as well, depending how important my writings were to me, and why my words have to be tampered with.

I could care less about who the top blogger is, it's nothing more than a feature on the site. But either the adminstration is going to be professional, or they need to not have it going on at all. It's a matter of integrity.

Your words ring clear to both my heart and I feel your words deep within my soul and the word integrity is liken to the shot heard around the world.

I had the Philosophy that one can learn or can TEACH another and have respect in doing it. It was said to live with the truth and deal with the FACTS, ask questions and make your own decisions. This was the place I thought I found.

If you have noticed, over 275 hits have visited this blog already and much of these visitors have came back more than once to witness the progress of the blog, just to see what the Webb administration has to say to the Theft/ integrity of this black site.

Thank You Sister Muhammad for your heartfelt words and the brief history of Black In America. I hope that these words would touch the hearts and souls of this admin, to knowledge that they are aware of this situation and give her a quick resolution and a quick restitution to this problem.

Can this issue by resolved because there are still many of us out here today want to hear from the administration on this topic.

Just between you and me, I agree.

It's rather petty. There are so much more things to worry about than hit counts.

I've been on this site for years and hit counts are the least of my worries.What I value is the content of the information being presented. That's just me so to each his/her own. Unless I'm being paid for contributions... mere tokes or hit counts mean very little to me.

I know that you have been around this site for awhile now. This situation took me situation by surprise and did not know that this would happen and really did not know if this phenomena was just happening too me.

Yes, I shall continue to enjoy, too. There isn't that much that run me away from a site, not even hit counts although some have left over it. That will not happen to you Deac, in Jesus Name!

The blog hit counts that you see on the site only counts blogs posted within the past 180 days. We have changed it to be varying days in the past (eg. 90 days, 6 months, etc) ... but currently, we have it set at the last 180 days. It is not a lifetime count where we continually accumulate the hit numbers, but there could be something that we provide in the future.

deacon gray there are sooooooo many things i can say on this subject, i don't even know where to start, i have been a member of this site since the year 2011 and although i don't visit this site often, i have noticed there is a lot of envy and jealousy among the members, and psychopaths who get away with doing more dirt than this site allows them to (and i'm not saying any names, they know who they are and how they contributed), those same members don't like for anyone to tell them the truth about themselves, so they resort to behaving like a spoiled, rebellious and hard headed child, like a sibling who puts you down in the most subtle ways possible, and then insists that you are the one who always starts fights, they're also known to be sneaky to a fault and throw rocks and hide their hands, in other words the person or persons who have guilty hands will throw rocks to make you look elsewhere and not at them, so i would say this is more of a personal matter than a so-called computer glitch
