OK, the presidential election is still a year away, but according to a new poll we have another long night of watching results in Florida and Ohio to look forward to.

A NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released Tuesday shows Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton would tie Republican Ben Carson, 47% to 47%, in a hypothetical matchup with the man leading the most recent GOP presidential poll.

Clinton would defeat any of the other Republican candidates in the election, the NBC/WSJ poll shows, including the bombastic businessman himself, Donald Trump, by eight points.

Here is how Clinton stacks up against the leading GOP candidates:
•Clinton 47%, Carson 47%
•Clinton 50%, Trump 42%
•Clinton 47%, Rubio 44%
•Clinton 47%, Bush 43%

Bernie Sanders, whom polls have consistently shown in second place in the Democratic race, would defeat Trump by an even wider margin, according to the poll, getting 50% of the vote to Trump’s 41%.

The poll was conducted Oct. 25-29, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.
