Sister Muhammad,
Those are the evil spirits which doesn't want us to know how powerful and blessed with talents we as a people are. Notice, those spirits will never deal with the content of the message but they will always come for the messenger.
I have been blessed to grow up with first, the wizard of Oz and now both of the musical play's, "The Wis." when I came across this article, I had to share it, we people with that passion for good wholesome art would know that is was out there.
If you get the chance, watch this video persentation again because it is wonderful, the second time around.
I loved it....
I always appreciated the black versions of the Wiz. They were both so much fun, full of talent, creativity, and soul. I remember seeing "the Wiz" on television for the first time when I was about 7, and found The Emerald City scene so fascinating. Still love the movie, music and all, but nothing can touch Stephanie Mills version of "Home."
I completely forgot about Diana Ross as Dorothy and Richard Pryor in the very first "The Wiz" the movie? So, make that four of them.

I had fun putting this one together for you Sister Muhammad, ENJOY.
I am have so much fun with this one, I got one more for your review THE WIZ: LIVE! - "A Brand New Day" [LIVE @ Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebsfygcOeg...
I loved all of these videos, I enjoyed the 1978 movie version of the Wiz more because Diana Ross, Micheal Jackson, and Richard Pryor had great chemistry together. I still have The Wiz on VHS (funny saying that in 2015) as well as a DVD I brought from Walmart. When I taught kindergarten, I showed the Wiz to the class and they loved the cast and all the songs from the movie, some of them were even dancing along to some of the songs (smile). Last week's television event was great as well and everybody did a good job embodying the people they were supposed to play. This was truly a night of black excellence.

Sister Muhammad,
I want to Thank You for sharing this fun with me on the internet. No, I did not see The Southern University Marching Band performs "Brand New Day" from The Wiz at halftime at the Bayou Classic Game In New Orleans until now, with that great marching band coordination.
You have touched my heart when you shared this link with me, Whitney Houston Performs "Home" from The Wiz. Whitney Houston was one of the greatest talents I have ever heard in my life and I feel a great joy, as well as a great loss when I heard her sing that song down in South Africa.
She has always had that power to move me in a heartfelt way. WOW!!!
THANK YOU...

I love "The Wiz" and can't wait to watch this, yet there are some people who are complaining on Twitter that "The Wiz" has an all-Black cast. These same people who are complaining seem to have forgotten that “The Wiz” it is an offshoot of “The Wizard Of Oz” which had an all-white cast.
The Wiz is a movie that has been out for 40 years, and the Broadway play has existed just as long as the movie has. Why are they complaining now? Yet they are quick to tell black people to get over racism, lack of diversity, slavery, and misrepresentation.
