Report: Domestic Extremists killed 52 people in 2015

At least 52 people in the United States were killed by domestic extremists in 2015, according to a report released Tuesday by the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) Center on Extremism, making 2015 the deadliest year for this type of killing in two decades.

Though domestic extremists killed more people in 2015 than in the preceding two years combined, the dozens of deaths came at the hands of fewer parties, according to the report. The ADL linked each death to either white supremacists or anti-government, domestic Islamist or anti-abortion extremists, though not all of their crimes were ideologically motivated. In some instances, the report says, extremist groups will engage in gang-related violent activity.

White supremacists have been responsible for the greatest number of domestic extremist killings every year since 1995, according to the report. The ADL attributed 20 deaths in 2015 to white supremacists, nine of which occurred on June 17 when a gunman shot and killed nine congregants at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina. Dylann Roof has been charged in the racially motivated murders.

Can you say: "Report: Domestic Extremists?"

Steve Williams Wednesday, January 13th 2016 at 5:47PM

Lafayette wasn't domestic terrorism. Neither was Colorado Springs.

The Oregon Standoff is classified as domestic terrorism act., The act on plan parent hood was a act of domestic terrorism, Sandy Hook was classified as domestic terrorism.

There have also been more than 1,000 mass shootings since Sandy Hook and 355 incidents this year alone in which at least 4 or more people were injured or killed, all of these was classified as domestic terrorism and none by Islamic jihadists. 32,000 Americans die every year in auto accidents -- so you have a far greater chance of dying while driving to the mall or your workplace, now I am not talking about you Steven since you don't work, than you do in being shot by a foreign terrorist when you get there.

There are vested interests who benefit from scaring Americans. The military-industrial complex and gun manufacturers profit and the NRA from endless war and fear of your neighbor. The national security state gains vast new powers to invade the privacy of innocent Americans. Demagogic politicians gain attention and support by playing to our fears instead of our hopes. And the mass media attracts larger audiences and sells more ads by focusing their coverage on terrorism and Trump. Coverage of the Paris terror attacks exceeded coverage of the Paris climate talks many times over.

Now don't get me wrong Steven, I disown all such of terrorism attacks both foreign and domestic and don't defend neither, that is why I can say domestic terrorism.

We heard virtually nothing about Robert Lewis Dear. So you are saying the FBI made a statement? I'd be interested to see it.

The man who admits to fatally shooting three people at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado said to a CBS station that he blamed the FBI, which "wanted to start a war."

Robert Lewis Dear is charged with 179 counts in connections with the shooting at the Colorado Springs clinic on Nov. 27, which also left nine others injured.

On Wednesday during a phone interview with Denver's CBS station, Dear said the attack on Planned Parenthood wasn't planned and blamed it on the FBI.

"It wasn't planned, as far as that goes. It was just a spur of the moment that…OK. They wanted, they wanted to slay, to come for me, they wanted to start a war and so that's why I did it," Dear said.

Dear also claimed the FBI has been following him for more than 20 years after he complained on the radio about how the agency handled the siege in Waco, Texas.

"I felt like they were going to get me," Dear said. "So I felt like I wanted to pick where I want to make my last stand. I picked Planned Parenthood because it's murdering little babies."

It was the FBI, he added, that tipped off the clinic and local authorities of pending arrival. The Associated Press reported that a Denver FBI spokesperson declined to comment because of a gag order in case.

No Steven, I am picking up the same things from the News Papers. Was Attack on Planned Parenthood 'Terrorism?'http://www.huffingtonpost.com/gvh-live-/was-attack-on-planned-par_b_8719996.html

NOT THE FBI sorry I am not saying that at all.

Steve Williams Wednesday, January 13th 2016 at 10:38PM

What about Dear's statement? How is his stated motive terrorism?

Steve Williams Wednesday, January 13th 2016 at 10:43PM

Your link is from Dec. 8, mine is from today.
